The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration is calling on all returning overseas migrant workers to avail of the agency’s OFW Reintegration Program (OFW-RP), a business loan for former and active members of OWWA with a loan amount that starts at P300,000 up to P2 million.

OWWA Region V Director II Jocelyn Hapal said that the agency does not only offer insurance and safety for overseas workers, they are also helping them in reintegrating themselves into the present Philippine society.

She explained that this program have already helped a lot of returning OFW’s some even decided not to go abroad anymore and just settle here and manage their business.

To qualify for the loan, one must complete the eligibility and documentary requirement. One of the requirements is the certificate of attendance on the Enterprise Development Training (EDT). The applicant must also have a proof that he is a bona fide OFW like passport with employment or working visa, travel documents, Overseas Employment Certificate. A comprehensive and well thought business plan is also required to avail of the loan. This program is in partnership with the Land Bank of the Philippines.
